Parent training, also known as parent management training (PMT) or behavioral parent training (BPT), is a family of treatment programs designed to change parenting behaviors and improve child behavior problems. The treatment is typically delivered in a group format, with 10-15 parents participating in each group. Sessions are usually held weekly, and last for 1-2 hours. PMT has been incorporated into various school-based programs, such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
